Forum Initiative
On October 30, 2023, during the "2023 NESS International Science Congress and Workshop on An Eco-Security System for All People (ESSAP)", the An Eco-Security System for All People·International students Forum was hosted by Hainan Normal University and co-organized by Hainan University and Hainan Medical college, etc. International students come from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and academic disciplines, offering fresh ideas and innovative solutions. They bring a unique perspective to global issue of environmental security and the role that international students can play in achieving a common goal. By fostering dialogue between these bright minds, we can inspire cross-cultural collaboration and generate actionable strategies for environmental preservation.
Experts and scholars attended the Forum highly support "One Target · An Eco-Security System for All People (Haikou Initiative)". Through intensive communication and discussion, we believe that various global ecological crisis and the earth beyond six of nine planetary boundaries have pose serious threats to the Eco-Security conditions necessary for the long-term survival of mankind (people in various countries). The future of mankind is closely linked, and the cooperation and exchanges between countries in the world are getting closer and closer. We must work together as a big family to solve global problems. As young scholars, we should play our responsibility and actively participate in and take the lead in promoting this global collaboration. Based on this consensus, the ESSAP·International Forum on International Students proposes to the international scientific community and colleagues from all over the world the following initiative call:
It calls on international students strengthen their awareness of environmental protection, reduce their ecological footprint, and actively participate in the practice of environmental protection and sustainable development. Pay close attention to the Eco-Security bottom-line necessary for the long-term survival of the children of ourselves and our own countries, and people of our own countries, and actively support and participate in NESS relevant scientific research and collaborative actions in their countries.
It calls on young scholars in all countries pay attention to the Eco-Security targets needed for the sustainable survival of all children and mankind around the world, form wide consensus and actively support and participate in relevant scientific research collaborations and joint actions around the theme of ESSAP. Widely publicize the concept of environmental protection and sustainable development, spread the importance of ecological protection to the public, cultivate the public's awareness of environmental protection, guide them to form green habits, and encourage more people to participate in the action of protecting the ecological environment!
